I'm not sure if barty recommended me this as a 'melody man'. In any case I really love it - the feather light, rickety drums, the rainsplash piana and the plangent sax.
Somehow I got it into my head that this was based on a real-life story of a high school college football team that perished in an autoaccident. I found it tear-jerkingly poignant under this supposition. Now I realise it's just about being a loser, it's all an ironic joke. Still an absolute CHOON though. I like it when he talks about sliding like a viper through the city streets making love to these women languid and bitter sweet and it's all sinuous and slithery like a snake.
