Now I know Mark's idea wasn't to fetishise drugs, I'm not that *clueless.* But one cannot doubt that it is the products of that psychedelic culture, in like rave as a lumpen psychedelia he wants to engage with. And I'm saying there's nothing left to engage with there. Perhaps in the 70s when the left could be (re)orientated to the working class, but the left has long since decomposed in the safe ensconces of academia and bureaucratised trade unions. And again, if this was a problem exclusive to the UK, again the acid communism idea might cary more weight. But even in regions that are rapidly industrialising like Turkey, we are witnessing what we witnessed in this country in the 1980s and 1990s. Luke is right that if there is a culture that isn't subject to the global culture of capital, it sooner than later will be absorbed. It's just the way that a society based on unbound exchange works at the subconscious level.
