True enough. But of course UK Acid wouldn't have happened with Chicago. Don't forget Problemes D'Amour for the tracks. But you're right. Even Daniele Baldelli had to mix genres together to get coherent sets. And not downplaying Disco either. Just wish there was more Mojjo, Wizard, or Ken Collier sets online, there's already enough from WBMX.
well this is it isn't it, this is why i like sampling so much. hardcore wouldn't have happened without a lot of god awful italian rinky dinky house. but sped up and pitched up on the sampler this all luvved up balearic hippy tosh actually became frenzied and urgent. similarly with a lot of 90s rap and smoother jazz.
i don't get people who wholesail dismiss crap music. there is potential there.
of course the problem with the detroit purists is they venerate boring stuff because derrick may was into it at some boring high school party, well yeah, can you imagine the idm purists of the future looking back in 30 years time for todays producers, with pipe and a pouch of tobacco and saying, with an earnest connoisseur's face, those were the days for special d - come with me or milk inc - walk on water or lasgo - something
no of course not. weirdly enough outside of Holland noone rated Italo in the UK until the soho people got on it in 03.
Funny things are, influences...
