We've had a load of friends from Dusseldorf staying either with us or near to us for the last few days. Well, they live in Dusseldorf (or Cologne in some cases in fact) but almost none of them are German. One of our closest friends is from Georgia and yesterday we found ourselves quite near to the Georgian restaurant Tree Story (never understood that name, sounds like something that has been mistranslated I always think) and we decided to visit there cos we've enjoyed it a few times, but we never know how "authentic" it is so we wanted Luka's opinion on it. And the food was fucking great I have to say, plus they have added some Georgian wine to the menu and some lamb dishes, both of which were strangely lacking the first time we went there. This time though they did not have kinkaly on the menu which was weird, we asked about it and they said they can do it but you need to let them know a day in advance. Anyway, we were all pleased to learn that according to Luka it is the real deal and so we can relax knowing that the food we like is proper Georgian and we can count ourselves as connoisseurs and gourmands, rather than philistines who were foolishly tricked into liking something that wasn't even real!
