Thanks, that’s exactly what I hate about it. The packaged up you’re about to have a good timeness.
I'd go as far as to say that music that's consciously and specifically about "having a good time" is almost invariably terrible. The "rock" equivalent (if you can call it that) is that bloody awful Toploader song.
I don't agree. I think Shiels is right. It's generational. It's about this point in the timeline and what good times have come to signify. 'Good times' are nihilistic now in a way they weren't before.
I don't think that house tune shiels posted is "nihilistic", though. It's not that interesting. It's just extremely bland.

Being serious he's in the top 100 definitely. But well below RZA or Timblaland for instance. He's never made anything as indelible as Roll the Beats or Desire.
So much of what I've heard of his has been inessential. Noodly.
He's a genius of course but I don't think of him in terms of 'breadth' but narrowness.
Did you see him at printworks patty? I liked the sensory assault but the pummeling techno and breakcore bits I get bored by, I don't find it that intense after 30 seconds. I want loads of space and lush melodies and crying synths not drumworkouts for crusties. Best bit was when he dropped it out all for stone in focus and then brought is dj ss black
