Dry the pool, dry concrete, brown edged,
And the pool was filled with water out of sunlight,
And the lotos rose, quietly, quietly,
The surface glittered out of heart of light,
And they were behind us, reflected in the pool.
Then a cloud passed, and the pool was empty.
makes you wonder, what's the threshold that needs to be crossed to go from an interesting idea in yr head to actually bothering to start a new thread about it? and then to immediate recant.
i hate it when we've all tacitly agreed to watch the fish die and then someone takes pity on it and splashes it with water. they can't bring themselves to do CPR on it, cos it's a fish and it's gross but also they can't stand to see it suffer.
or it could just be reverse psychology: saying up from your own thread is shit draws attention to it, injects an elements of self-reflection that then gets debated. like I'm doing.
i love the cruelty of it. no responses. something like this, we could easily agree to go along with it and make something interesting out of it but sometimes you want your kick of piquant sadism.
no thread is wasted. everything is indexed by google. someday, someone will google for some of the key words typed out in this thread. like that guy from a few weeks ago who hated someone so much he found a topic about it here on dissensus and decide to register.
