You gotta feel a bit bad for this Davis guy when people are going "he's so lame comparatively that this trade only makes sense as some kind of weird money-laundering thing probably involving paedos" or words to that effect.

Was there any money or anything else as make-weight or was it just literally one-for-one?

As an aside, reading that article and seeing teams described as "franchises" is one thing that makes me literally physically angry and think that Americans should be banned from watching and playing sports (even more than they already are).

maybe so, but so should countries that have people that have roaming groups of self-described hooligans that are so into their teams they feel the need to form violent gangs to show support
but, basically sports should be banned in general
so much energy put into something so ultimately meaningless, but I guess it's maybe some kind of way to pacify people in lieu of constant wars between groups of people

Yeah it is a weird phenomenon that I totally should be above but which I'm definitely not.
There was a guy I used to know who worked for Soul Jazz records and I would bump into him in the sports centre when I went to play squash and he was going to swim laps on his own and he had this thing about how competitive sports were evil. I mean maybe it is sublimated war but that doesn't really make it good, just less bad.
