Still not really seeing sonic NFTs - only (2D) visual art ??
It's nice to see how this new tech has unlocked some enormous fount of creativity - the gibberish gifs that seem to the main medium for NFTs are ... fantastic
Have you heard of Audius? A web3 music streaming service / alternative to Spotify, where musicians can ostensibly be more independent.

Latest alpha: onchain NFTs are the new trend. Started by Anonymice, gameified by Ether Orcs (I'm all in on those), publicised by Wolf Game over the past week, I strongly advise finding an onchain p2e project ASAP. I'm going to earn more from these than I earn from my job.

didnt wu tang already do an audio nft?
I think Kings of Leon did one.

Anyway, re: NFT bay, it's not actual file that is of speculative value, but the publicly verifiable certificate of ownership, ownership of whatever the NFT represents. I feel like this still goes over most people's heads.

Which isn't to say that the certificate of ownership of a jpeg of a rock is actually worth $21 million while the jpeg itself isn't, hence "speculative".

You can copy jpegs all you want, but you can't copy the ledger data, short of a ludicrously expensive attack on the network, as I understand.

You can mint them on NFT minting/auctioning platforms, but actually listing it for sale on Ethereum is outrageous gas fees lately. I'd suggest trying an NFT minting platform another blockchain, maybe Tezos, or maybe Algorand if they have one.

Anyway, you don't need to code one yourself, unless you want special features, or unless you want to bypass the fees that the auction platforms impose.

You may need to code some contract that locks in the funds of the buyer before the sale is made... unless you're comfortable trusting these online strangers.

But doing anything on Ethereum right now is infeasible unless you're rich. I suspect that some of the big ETH holders are manipulating the network traffic to price out the small guys.

I think I'm already playing in this game. Last 24 hours, holding a couple of NFTs and tokens has put me on several whitelists to mint more NFTs, access other game ecosystems, and ultimately earn. It's exciting. I donated an NFT and some tokens to my son, after setting him up on discord and metamask, so he can play too.
