No lockdowns at all

A propos of nothing, but 😂

You said it. Boris had one and one only opportunity to claim his place in history by fucking off cuckdowns completely a la Sweden, and he blew it.
Even Sweden's PM admits they fucked up, you imbecile:

A Sweden-type approach in the UK would in all likelihood have doubled our death toll.

Still waiting to die of killer brain prion disease here btw, doc.

Who cares what a politician thinks, in Sweden or anywhere else? You're such a normie, it's painful to watch.

And you're too quick to throw insults around, it's almost as if you have no arguments, or much of a clue about anything.

Yes, because Sweden - the least densely populated country in Europe, bar Russia, with a far healthier population than the UK, far less deprivation and a great healthcare system - is an excellent comparator for the UK.

*slow clap*

They did far worse than the countries that are actually comparable, i.e. the other Nordics, which is the salient point here.

Deaths per million:

Norway: 1,040
Denmark: 1,511
Sweden: 2,546

Sweden's death rate was thus about twice as great as the average for the two most comparable countries, both of which had a lockdown. The UK would likely have seen something like half a million deaths, as opposed to a mere quarter of a million.

Are we talking about COVID? No. We're talking about excess deaths, all-cause mortality to date, you daft cunt.

1) Sweden is highly urbaniseda and lower sqft pr capita, way more than Denmark for instance. 2) Denmark and Norway never did have lockdowns a la UK. 3) Immigrant pop w/ higher lack of D-vitamins in Sweden is more comparable to the UK than to NO/DK

As has been noted, excess death is usually the measure to use, so these minor details aren't even that interesting

Also, never mention Sweden and Covid without 90s euro dance icon/dentist Dr.Alban's ode to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell : (the point here if you cannot understand the language: Swedes do conform to recommendations; ever met a Swede before?)

@craner Wastewater surveillance is back for Wales. Its bucking the national trend at the moment, with covid being relatively low but rising.

Worryingly, JN.1 is now accounting for 50% of samples. This is the variant that's causing havoc globally right now, often characterised by gastro symptoms.
