This is cool.cold cold dubbed out machine funk. Chris Duckenfield and crew, I believe.
A high point of warp.
He's def the master of this style, got a couple of records laying around by him. Also finds his electroclashy trash (I believe he's french after all) like this kinda a cute:Drexciyan trance.
I was never a big (deep) electro fan, but there are exceptions of course (Drexciya, Le Car, I-F), here's a crew I kinda like which is more in the mid-tempo twisted funk style that DJ Stingray use to play:
oh that one is on that classic DJ Stingray mix (Bootleg cafe) which basically launched his careerbut of course!
Interesting how we hear things differently cos to me that's quite a cheery even cheesy little number. I don't dislike it but it's got a kind of playfulness to it that to me is the opposite of deep.Real "deep" electro, no corny spacey chords here. It doesn't get much drier than this:
Sort of reminds me of thisthis def has to go in here, from the margarita boys. though I struggle to call it deep... more like paranoid freneticism.
I see what you mean. It's still kind of dry/constrained. Maybe that juxtaposition is deepness for me.Interesting how we hear things differently cos to me that's quite a cheery even cheesy little number. I don't dislike it but it's got a kind of playfulness to it that to me is the opposite of deep.
