I read a few very long ones like the Brothers Karamazov which wasn't difficult except for it being so bloody long
I was 19 when I read it and had stamina
No others. A few aborted attempts at Ulysses.
The most impenetrably obtuse and/or boring things I've read were fragments of Hegel and Heidegger at university. The thought of reading a whole 600 page book by them fills me with holy terror

The worst book is, was and forever shall be Persuasion, at school. Bonnet porn. I had to do a crit presentation so focused on one section’s (don’t ask which bit) punctuation, which was a morass of commas. Ridiculous plot for young minds, yet more class anxiety ridden drivel
