Maybe there is already a word for this phenomenon but what I've coined this term for is cultural works in which the writer/musician/director etc. describes the history of their interest in a particular genre using that genre e.g. tunes in https://www.discogs.com/release/1392786-Various-Jungle-Story and this poem:
