the transcript available muddies what’s spoken in the track, so better to gleam your own ideas of its word flow, has a lick of I Am Sitting in a Room acoustics as the vocals distort further, quite short too but effective tripping sounds for the uninitiated

Oh yes, been trying to figure out what his interest in UFOs is, actually. There were some sightings near Ann Arbor I believe. And he compared women to aliens in an interview. Something about communing with the other side, like Marcel's Bachelors & Bride, separated by glass.

Visited Ann Arbor (his hometown) last week. Got to see the childhood home (now a frathouse, shoelaced sneakers from the phone wires) and the Zal Gaz Grotto Club (a mason's offshoot, of which his father, Ward, was an early member—and Gerald Ford, some decades later).

my university is holding a Open mic night at a book store in a couple weeks.... i don't know what open mic nights can be and what are performed there besides poetry, so i am going to prepare some poetry to read at the open mic night... it is something to work towards and look forward to.... i will be reading through this thread, and luka's thread on how to be a poet every day to help prepare.... i will set aside time to write for it everyday.... i did some poetry in a creative writing class that i could perform but maybe i should write something new, and the poetry i have posted in here is maybe too inappropriate for this open mic, and the flyer said that please keep submissions under 3 minutes. i think a plan is to do one poem that could be up to 3 minutes or even less than a minute, but just do my best work ignoring time constraints. i will post progress and efforts drafts here.... please let me know of any advice or suggestions on what i should do or perform @sus @luka or anyone else

Wasn't your reading of your own work at your book launch deemed so unsatisfactory by the assembled company that the book was wrest from your grasp such that the evening could be salvaged?

Um,it's certainly possible Ben Watson decided he could do a much better job of reading than me. But that says more about his self regard than my level of competence

ive always been pretty confident as a public speaker beacuase i believe in what i am saying and what i am presenting what i wrote.... but this means i will have to produce something in the next few weeks that feeds that confidence..... this is smart tho..... its like what i did with that one monologue i put on youtube, being in front of a camera just like being in front of a mirror..... i will do this

ok while this is like 2 weeks out and i havent given it the most thought, i think i am going to work on some sort of poem based on "what bob dylan means to me" i am leaning on this because i have struggled to land on some sort of subject, i think if i have a topic or subject to lean on, it will be easier to produce some if any sort of writing out of me..... i initially thought of doing something like this but was hesitant because it comes off a bit too earnest for poetry, but i am going to do my best to counter this in not making it too literal or direct. when i had done those ask poets in the park for poems on bob dylan, i typically favored the poems that werenet so direct and literal about the subject, like the ones that directly mentioned his songs or things easily recognizable about him......i hhave 2-3 weeks so i will perfect soemthing.... this is of course inspired by this.... it is great because it makes no direct reference to guthrie until the last line.
