I have lost my way. I started optimizing for all sorts of things and left fun by the wayside. I hope I haven't forgotten how.

I was just joshing around in the dudes chat this morning, making jokes, as one does, and I thought how few interactions like that I have anymore. Just guys havin a good time, not trying to be too serious.

why don't you meet more often with your friends then? i can relate to what you say, that sometimes i miss just having simple fun and since i quit drinking i miss the pub banter and the weird encounters and interactions with strangers. what brought me fun though was signing up to art classes in the evenings. i love them even though i think the quality of the classes isn't even that great. but just to sit around a big and spacious room with other people engaging in creativity is so nice, and to look over eachothers shoulder to see what they are creating, to discuss it at the end, to compare. to laugh at the results, or to praise them. i think it's what i miss so much about being in high school - to be around loads of different people and to fool around. test each one of them.

I think fun is very important though. I love having fun I will drop whatever I'm doing to have fun. But I'm also not inundated with requests for fun because I'm a very real and serious person so it balances out
