Flava is superb producing garage, grime and house and is much more 'now' than spooky really.
First Dissensuslive CD would be Petchy, Shantee and Repair fosho
Then you bring up race while overlooking the fact that she is in one of the most discriminated-against groups in the dance music industry anyway.
ofc women are discriminated against. you seem to be saying 'well dont talk about race because sexism still exists'. im not saying you cant talk about the two things. but just cos theres sexism, doesnt mean that racism isnt there either.

no i didn't mean that at all. i just thought you maybe brought up the race thing to suggest she had got the deal through white privilege, whereas i think that privilege (which undoubtedly exists and we should talk about it) would be more or less cancelled out by being female anyway.
i just don't think bringing it up in relation to flava d was the best way to make the point.
id have picked spooky personally. or grandmixxer.
Is Spooky popular enough for a Fabriclive mix?
DJ Q would have been the best option for the ukg/house n bass/grime intersection, but this looks awesome anyway. I think flava has improved a lot as a dj recently and her kiss radio show is wicked too.
is flava d? how popular is she really? im genuinely interested to know. and if she is more popular, why is that? i know she draws from a wider pool, beats wise, than spooky or grandmixxer, but is she that good a DJ? im not sure.
agree on DJ Q.
the main fabric series is a bit better.
3 women DJs out of 88.
im gonna start DJing too.
will do it under a diff name obv so i can get onto a fabric lineup ASAP.
