about all the grime raves thousands of people go to?

about the abundance of grime albums available in a store near you?

or should it be about the fact that there are no raves because of the police, and that there are only mixtapes and 12", available in 3 stores and 4 online stores. Mixtapes btw which are said to be a hit an miss affair by most of the grime-fans themselves (on dissensus for instance). about grime artists who don't want to be called grime, about THE grime dj Logan Sama, who calls formentioned artists "ignorant people"?

Who in their right mind would want to be labeled Grime,bearing in mind the facts you have laid out? Maybe it is time for a name change?

Dubstep was the term originally coined to avoid the UK Garage tag which no one would go near.As the term Grime was coined to describe the music that even the UK Garage scene wouldnt go near,its no wonder the artists are not happy with it.

yeah, that's what i mean. it's a name that naturally came about. the face didn't make it up, tony blair didn't make it up, etc. people act like grime is a bad word or something.
if artists don't want to be pigeon-holed, prove it with your music instead of claiming to not even be making the same genre as the rest of the people doing the exact same thing as you.

The first time the word Grime was used in any context to the UK underground was that Dillinja tune that has that sample in it "time to get grimey" That tune came out around or just before dark garage started evolving I think.

The point that I was originally trying to make was if you create an original sound,you might not like the label that subsequently gets slapped on it.Especially if that label originally denoted something down-market and inferior when you are aiming for the stars
