Damn. When I download the files, EViews thinks they're text files. It doesn't see them as prg files so won't open them from the file>open>programme menu. When I open the file directly, it gets imported into EViews as text, which the programme tries to fit into some kind of spreadsheet.

It just works for you straight away, huh?

I'm using 5.1

I think they might have some different versions of the files for different versions of Eviews

Yeah, no files for version 7. You'd think that version 6 files would be compatible with version 7 though. Maybe not. Emailed Zezza anyway. I'll see what he's saying.

Still fiddling about. Seems useful for graphic depiction of the models in ch. 3. (I haven't got any further in the text yet). I'm planning to mess with the parameters quite a bit to try to get inside the equations, but it remains to be seen whether it's better to do this in EViews or on paper.
