Modeselektor have come a long way since performing live acid house music at illegal underground parties around Berlin in the mid 1990s.
The follow-up to their previous album, Hello Mom! is Happy Birthday! which sees Thom Yorke and Maximo Park feature on the album. Other guest artists include Otto von Schirach, Siriusmo, TTC, Paul St. Hillare and Puppetmastaz. Happy Birthday! was released in September 2007 on Bpitchcontrol and the name of the album comes from the fact that they are headlining TRAMP!’s 3rd Birthday celebrations (well that is what we tell ourselves anyway). Their sound crosses a variety of genres - rap, crunk and grime with their own trademark techno-electronic twist.
