Starting Points in Williamsburg?!

Hi there,

am from Berlin, will be in NYC (propably Williamsburg) by the end of the month. Any suggestions what to start around there? - heard good things about WB and Bushwick respectively in the NYC guides that already exist in this forum but date back to 2007 - maybe this is the chance for an update? Is there maybe an off-forum comparible to RR in Berlin for NYC or the Williamsbug-area?

Best,
kin

For experimental sound spaces, there's Diapason (run by the sound artist Michael Schumacher), La Monte Young's Dream House (best sound installation ever?) & The Stone (run by John Zorn)

I was there for 10 days in Jan and had an amazing time. Stayed just off Bedford Ave.

Best thing I visited? DIA:Beacon. Unbelievable permanent collection and just a great art gallery housed in a former biscuit factory. It's out of town but worth the train ride.
