Subvert 47 you joker, I almost posted 'Homicide' then claimed #1000, but then I didn't...

Saw this on the Oneman blog.

Tune dedicated to Clarkes shoes.

Wicked verse

'Mi tell my man seh memba proper hygine and dont forget
bagga sneakers gi u cheesy foot
if u kno wah mi kno boy low di crep
memba pointed mout corn u toe
wear di dessert clark di easy step
my code that can save you boy
you athelics foot ago lead to death'

I heard that tune on the radio the other day and I had to double take to hear if he was actually talking about clarkes shoes. I remember as a kid having endless arguements with my mum about wearing clarkes shoes when all my class mates had cooler brands

didn't know until last week that Louis Armstrong had made any gospel records, and had no idea they'd be so fantastic.

to quote my DJ partner in crime - "he makes the whole thing seem just effortless, like that's what they do sunday morning in his house - then it's time for dinner"

New Mount Kimbie is predictably faan-tastic. First listen I wasn't bowled over, but much of the stuff on it is as good as anything they've done. The cut-up vocals they make use of can so easily be cliche and tired, but it's been done so well... Album of the summer so far for me.

You should check out Alva Noto's album - Xerrox vol. 2. Sounds pretty similar in some ways. Maybe a bit 'cleaner' but the general noise + strings thing is still there. The Frost is a quality album.

Hmmmm, I'll see if I can find some audio when I get home.
One of the things that I like the most about Mr Frost is his ability to have things sound so dirty and grimy whilst retaining that sorta wide-screen feel (I'm at loathe to use the word "cinematic") .

Went out for a run with this on the headphones, maybe it's the endorphins but it seemed to fit the blissed out late sunlight on the estuary vibe perfectly. Love running on the sand:
