All about pride and egos
"Tim-F-ication"? Another case of bloggers overestimating the importance of bloggers?

Also lol @ Maryanne Hobbes using a MAHism even in her resignation:

Blackdown

hmm...
Well Dusk & Blackdown's show got me into a lot of garage bits but I don't think i've ever heard them play any Jungle or Drum & Bass hardly ever any references on Blackdown's blog either :slanted:

we both are crazy about jungle, my love of dubstep came from it being originally garage x dark jungle, i just dont know what value a mix of it would add, compared to one by say zinc, hijak etc. nor could i write about jungle the way brian belle fortune can. same with my love of detroit for example, would me playing Model 500 regularly on Rinse really be worth listening to? Is there anyone into specialist dance music who hasn't heard Strings of Life? we'd rather play upfront and find new ground...

[that said we have been ending our club sets with some recently, Glasgow, LA and Austin all got a bit of 31 Seconds, Thru the Vibe remix or Bambaata... it rolls nicely out of Skream's Float remix]

Mala's tripple pack is too good. Can't stop playing those tunes. I've heard most of them countless times in mixes and in clubs but it doesn't matter. The dude is timeless.

Pev's new 12" is insane, Better Ways Of Living esspecialy. Joe has been on it recently too. The Pips and Hessle are so good. Ramadanman has been killing it in the 130-140-ish spectrum big time. I'm addicted to the LHF 12". V.I.V.E.K. has a really strong double pack on Deep Medi in the works, really feeling it. Blawan is doing it too. haha ;)

p.s.

Please Mala can we have Education...

this could go in many threads, but EVERYONE needs to download benufo's mix for disco404 (if they haven't already)

i listened to it in a monged out stupor after cycling the dunwich dynamo yesterday. the mixing is incredibly good. i'm slowly coming to realise that dissensus' very own ben is far and away the most talented dj out there!

big tune. benga fell off hard after his earliest productions imo.

yeah big time.

his early stuff is as good, maybe even better than skream's.

Star Wars
Amber (fucking TUNE!)
Skank
Walkin Bass
Full Cycle
Killers About
The Virus
Skunk Tip

he made some quality tunes.

his recent stuff is almost uniformly shit tho. although i did quite like Buzzin.
still, he needs to fix up. (says me, sitting in my pants, whilst he's probably doing massive lines off some buff girl's navel at a massive international festival...)

Ha! I'm sure this aint far from the truth, clearly there is a massive demand for 'stadium' dubstep,
these guys are the OG's and now their sound has developed & eventually converged with the need for a new 'BIG' dance sound for the festival crowd.
I cant really blame them for playing to their audience (when it gives them more money, women & drugs than they ever had before)
you just hope that the success doesnt completely kill their originality and they continue to release some 12"s that keep pushing the sound, maybe its wishful thinking on my part

*now where has that brazilian model gone with that big baggy . . . .
