I could imagine a huge debate right now among the EU countries regarding vaccine approval. The hardest-hit Southern European countries need it NOW, but are also more vaccine-sceptic I assume (but general more lax in medicine use, ie antibiotics), Eastern Europe are ardent anti-vaxxers, while Northern Europe are possibly doing what they can trying not to rush it to not gamble with a very high an unique trust in public vaccination programs (anti-vaxxers in Scandinavia, Netherlands are regarded as degenerates). Germany probably inbetween.

USA is going to top 300,000 official covid-19 deaths today, which is pretty grim. Probably more like 450,000 total excess deaths, in that case, given that the excess death rate is about 50% higher than the diagnosed covid-19 deaths.

Droid's prediction that "this could kill a million Americans" is starting to look worryingly plausible.
Only if you keep everything crossed, ghoul.

If you read that in full, they attribute many excess deaths to drug overdoses, dementia and Alzheimer's, circulatory problems, caused by or left untreated because of lockdowns.

Did I say otherwise? You are still, I see, insisting on assuming that anyone who doesn't agree with you is waving the banner for universal, eternal lockdowns.

And while it's quite flattering, I suppose, that you think I somehow have the ability to influence the death toll, it's also magical thinking.

Hardly surprising to me that this is the case, people in my family have caught it off eachother this year. I can count on one hand the amount of indoor pub spaces I've been to, restaurants with her indoors maybe more, but have been in plenty of houses. Drinking, hiding away.

Not that I am a new yorker but human nature is human nature

Do you do that kinda clacking thing with your mouth to get it started, where you're kinda puffing but not inhaling

I love that, I would smoke pipes just for that

infection numbers are low here for restaurants/bars and hair salons because they are only allowed to seat at 25% capacity, and many are doing outdoor seating only with no indoor dining. is there really any question that those numbers would jump if they went back to normal 100% capacity?
