I think a very productive exercise would be to tap into as sincere an appreciation of these films as possible. Defy your cultured superego. Revel in the spectacle.

I hope Covid guts the life out of these cultural horrors in the years to come and humanity sees its meta-narcissism in the rear view mirror, re-remembers every one of us dies irl, then moves on to Star Wars 23.

I think it feels too good, for too many people, indulging in experiences like this. Unless something more attractive than an indefinite franchise of cosmic escapades comes around, I don't see it departing. Short of some kind of crash.

I'm just saying we could have much to gain from tapping into this state, then tapping back out. Rather than either never tapping in to begin with (as most of this forum is), or being tapped-in by default (as most MCU fans are).

It's always impossible to imagine change but then it happens overnight.

When you having lived several lifetimes as I have you've seen many regime changes you've seen the heads of many kings on the chopping block. Marvel has had an unusually long run though I'll give you that.

Marvel films present a broadly optimistic tech friendly capitalism friendly vision of the future. Basically Stans world view is marvel films. Interestingly you do get the mark fisher philosophy voiced in these films but only by the super villains. If he was alive he'd say you do hear the unspeakable truth spoken in these films but only the baddies are allowed to say it.
