Shiels wants to keep some of the dilettante internet politics, Twitter praxis, but he knows in his heart he must abandon it. It's a scene, young people networking, which he is attracted to, feels like he might belong there, but they will never accept him. He's not truly one of them and they know how to sniff out outsiders and rebuff them

Which is what our Gus was saying about the BCM. He wants to join but he's not one of them. They know how to spot him and turf him out the party.

And networking here is the real synonym for libidinal desire. Until shiels gets his knob dirty he can never be accepted into this milieu. But even if he was young enough, there is a very substantial problem, insofar as he is Irish and Irish people who live in England have renounced that, whereas Shiels cannot.

Yes, Gus is not shallow enough for them. He takes politics seriously, which is the antithesis to this lot. Politics is indeed a game for them, and it's precisely because it's a game that they are able to flirt with labour and the democrats from superficially anti-capitalist and socialist positions, despite both [parties never having been socialist in their existence whatsoever. Clause 4 is not socialist, it's just conversion of small enterprises into bigger mergers. Something boxed joy got wrong about me. I take politics very very seriously, this is why I criticise it and refuse to vote. Completely contradictory impulses.

Both paths will lead to considerably less sex for me so I'll have to politely decline. I want orgies in my living room.

ok you must first renounce your Irishness. Get rid of your catholicism. You were never irish, you have no Irish ancestry, your mum and dad were pure Anglo.

Tuchel's accepted the job. The fear of the krauts will be in full force in the acid communist milieu. Gotta move fast Shiels. your par game is too slow.

I think if you really have a vision for 'out' that you truly believe in, then you would want it despite having derived identity from the forces of lamentation. But I don't know if people have that vision. I haven't read Capitalist Realism but that's what it's about isn't it? A vision of out being made impossible?

I don't have that vision. My project is basically 'beyond alienation' because I know that I have been there in moments and periods of time, in that place where the world is neither familiar or unfamiliar but sort of de-familiar, where you're neither out or in but outside both of those places. This point from where you can take the world in through a decontextualised view and avoid being held down by any sort of pre-existing framework.

Of course the politics of it is maybe problematic to most because you could say that it sorta disavows material change for a mellow existence but it's honestly when I feel in this political extraposition that I have the most motivation to engage politically. I see things more clearly from there and I can to a higher degree extricate politically from identity.

Silly you, being a pedant. Same difference.

Rather a pedant than a guilty whitelander honestly!

Vampire castle saved you lot. Least offensive thing Mark wrote as well. really inoccuous. speaks to state of how Americanised UK academia has become it kicked up a storm. Convenient foil, ah but we're all gentleman here! You get a Kurdish unemployed internet cafe dweller making the same points and they'll be lynched to kingdom come for not having the decorum. Insipid defence of civilisation. Sit under the same roof with Stalin, Mao and Churchill! Acheson and Dulles will join you there as well. And Bastani. Great company. Lindsay German marrying Ahmedinejat, why nott. About as much as your lot can muster. All you ever do is legitimise wasteman like Wyndham Lewis. At least the right wingers honestly quote him whereas you lot squeam. post-capitalist desire = democratic state capitalist desire.

A real communist has no time for vote counting. There are no alternatives to dream up because the monolithic terroristic party always exists within the social fabric in a historical, if not always formal sense. Our history smashes constitutions and alternatives, not acts in the business of devising ever more elaborate wankspeak for post-Habermasian critical theory - the humble German social democrat actually made sense!

As soon as one talks about opening up the newspapers, one has already crossed over to seeing the class as a managerial prop to be integrated in the capitalised state. No longer is the proletariat allowed to have a solid weaponised doctrine of combat that is expounded upon, lasting centuries, (the bourgeois took 5 centuries to smash the feudal aristocracy in Europe alone!) but is subject to the niceties of sweet toothed pimp diplomats - are the prostitutes more ignominious than the prostitutor in your ketamine parties? Does one throw down their weapons when the fascists adopt diversity rhetoric? or is it all gossip mill personalities.

I was saying to my Ulster brother Shiels I was reading this thing on Mitch McConnell and it all felt very familiar. I thought, I know this man, he's one of ours, I can smell the Ulster on him and plus he looks just like my aunt Margaret. So I looked him up on Wikipedia and lo and behold I was bang on the money.

DAYS

What are days for?
Days are where we live.
They come, they wake us
Time and time over.
They are to be happy in:
Where can we live but days?

Ah, solving that question
Brings the priest and the doctor
In their long coats
Running over the fields.

also @luka is right. kpunk never liked football. which is where the true gnosis is. Love it mate, love it, love you. Football is everything, football is a way of life!
Objectively untrue. He was at Hillsborough on the day of the disaster (albeit on the other side of the stadium). Football references came up quite frequently in conversation, and I always got the impression he thought slightly less of me for not recognising any of them.
