GTA IV was the last good one, imo. They somehow managed to make a game with stuff like the internet and email in it, but without losing all the charm of the earlier games. It still had a proper atmosphere, particularly when you'd just drive around the city at night, listening to the jazz station or the new age one with stuff like Steve Reich and Terry Riley on it.

If they make another, they really should go back to Vice City or at least set it in the past somewhere else. I doubt even younger people think V had a better soundtrack than VC or San Andreas.

I think it would be cool if they set it in multiple timezones. and you could switch back and forth between 70s and 2020s the way you switched between characters in the last one. I reckon they might do that actually

we were spoiled by GTA because its incredible really how good the san andreas soundtrack was. literally every station every genre and every song in the game is good. every country song is good. introduced me to chicago house and 'voodoo ray' as a young teen.
