the connection machine's back catalog...finally got a friend with soulseek to locate their stuff for me (it's generally a failure on my mac) - one of my white whales, even though i think the downlow album is available in some places, i'm not much of an internet scowerer-for-deals and true to my generation i want to hear things in depth before buying them...but it's pretty much as gorgeous as i had hoped. like carl craig in slowmo, a precursor to the workshop label/modern narco-techno.

poison girls -- where's the pleasure (haven't listened to this in decades, really catchy and pretty diverse, great stuff)

jg thirlwell -- manorexia: the mesopelagie waters (chamber music arrangements of his most experimental electronic/sample-based project, new on zorn's tzadik label)

new order -- get ready (yeah, i know, not their more classic dance stuff but interesting to hear them change gears and pull out the guitars)

beyond the wizards sleeve - ark 1 (erol alkan and the grid's richard norris...esoteric, eclectic freakbeat weirdness, re-edited nuggets, exotic psychedelia and mangled krauty, disco beats)

Yup, Dem Hunger is an excellent album. Sounds like rustie vs black dice. Love that rough edged sound.

Brand New's "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me". Secretly one of the best guitar band records of the past decade. Even the most disposable song sounds like your typical indie/post-punk band, but with less embarrassing lyrics.
