@craner I mean listen to this Ollie! can you really say this is suave sophisticated man Kirk Degiorgio's thing at all? you really have to be brain damaged to enjoy it. and you are, whether you like it or not. free palestine!

or as an old belgian techno/91 hardcore head on discogs put it.

The worst combination in a hardcore track for me are speeded up shrill, chipmunk vocals, tinny skittery beats, overtly happy pianos and jungleistic chipmunked rudebwoy, yardie chants and motifs. This contains the bloody lot!

Stop trying to validate your taste like an uncircumcised bacon eating bourgeois! join us brain damaged freaks, and let go of your literati foot fetish.

to appreciate it I think you need to lock in to the dystopian sci-fi blade runner pre-millennium tension aesthetic. if you don't like that then it's probably not for you

and tbf I don't like much of the dnb that falls outside that area either

it helps if you like second and third wave detroit techno, especially Mills, Jay Denham etc. unfortunately none of you will ever disagree with Reynolds, which I find irritating. I like arguing with him, he knows I'll always offer a counterweight to his view.

I really dont get the jazzy stuff at all. 'pulp fiction' is sick until that awful fucking trumpet comes in. the bassline sounds like being pulled back and forth through a wormhole though. unimpeachable. the best and worst of the 90s combined in one track

This one is just fussy and widdly. Maybe it sounds better on a hot afternoon, probably not though.

No, you decanted to national socialist safe space northern soul nights to dance to rhythmically sterile 60s wigan cassino stompers that most people have forgotten about and cannot admit you are wrong. You fucking danced to this, didn't you?

You danced to petrol station soul. this is the biggest shame. Luke and @blissblogger cuss me out for jazz funk but jazz funk was once the sound of the hip black underground, this never was! Don't deny it Ollie!

you like metal, and metal is basically jazz with its suave sophistication removed.

in terms of dynamism no one really comes close to goldie. except maybe a guy called gerald. i really respect them both for the fact that they barely used amens as well
