a

not sure tbh... it started and ended like it was ripped from somewhere ... i did have a moment when i wondered if i'd miss the nasty sound of it... yknow.. youtube/myspace compression is the new vinyl crackle and all that!

yeah you might have a point there

the demo of the full version here

definitely sounds cleaner. and somehow not so fat. the youtube one is ripped from tv so there will be broadcast compression too.

hmmm!

yeah, funny about the compression thing - loses a bit of its weightiness in a way. still going to be really glad to have a copy of it

check out 'dj killer' from pretoria, part of the sheer music thing (mujava etc), pretty-much everything i've heard by him is amazing. was just searching for any more stuff by him and saw that he was killed in 2009, fucking shame. rip.

legit high quality version of mzo bullet finally available...

some other really good tunes on there. that mogrigo 'heavyweight' one is mental.

also i co-sign about dj killer, got loads of his tune off afrodesia, they're wicked. really love 'taxi 2 soweto', proper good trumpet bizniz.

yeah that heavyweight tune really stood out for me, with the pitchbent guitar sample...

also dj storm sounded quite good, more electro-ish with the synths, i think on of the tracks is basically a remix of armand van helden dizzy rascal "bonkers"....

Darned cockwombles.

Dunno if this ever got posted last year....it's doing it for me, anyway.

Edit: The first track, Manyora - A Ke Kwisisi, is just absurdly good. How anyone could not go crazy for this is beyond me, and yet - where the hell can I buy it? Kwaito - still the most exciting music in the world, clearly.

That Dj Killer track is insane too....please, someone, point me towards more kwaito mixes!

try afrodesiamp as well. Just tried to get on there though and my computer (or the site) won't let me on to check. Good call on that mix.

20 min mix showcasing 10 unreleased tracks by DJ Spoko.. Check it!!

Don't know if any of you guys have come across Spoko before- he's been active in the Pretoria House scene for a few years now. He hasn't had that much international exposure but he mentored and worked with Mujava helping him make (the now infamous..) Township Funk.

Spoko describes his current sound as 'bacardi house'- in my mind though.. this is proof that he owns the 'township' sound.

Be really interested to see what you guys make of this..
