woah, Mad One's done a dutty bass version of 'King of the Castle' with Natasha Carver and Depeo, and its up for free!

Still love that 'House Girls' sound. Don't know why cos that drum pattern/organ stab thing is really so generic and should be so played out by now, but when Mad One does its still compelling for some reason.

Oh, and I missed this, looking forward to the podcast:

show was big...Maxsin dropped some brand new FS bits and the whole showcase made me wonder how many producers can actually play a set full of their tunes without sounding tedious these days...

I'm really amazed by the way every new Funkystepz track delivers so much fun and energy at the same time...dutch house inspired music can't get better than this imho

Marcus played a lot of that "bass" stuff - Formula, Mr P, Redlight, Pantha, Mr. Solo and it actually seemed quite exciting to me this time, which might be due to Shantie on mic...still, it could get a lot better if more producers went for that fun synthy sound (like Funkystepz) instead of wobbles...new Myshy/Fuzzy Logik tune sounded odd, in a good way

i've been listening to this tune a lot recently. to my knowledge though, it sounds like it just came out of nowhere. that uk beat with the pulsing synth... sounds wicked!!!

anyone know more tunes that have a similar vibe?

I know people were talking about what you do by the fives a while back - it finally came out on a new ldn label Audio Doughnuts. Pretty good remixes aswell, Funkystepz mix was the one. Watch out tho - this ones really been fucking caned in mastering terms... Pretty painful to listen too on a proper rig... Playing it out has made me wince a couple of times. WHich actually I've found about a fair few funky releases.

so many good tunes around!

The Eastwood tune with Jae Elle is fantastic, there's a 140-ish grimey remix about which is sick as well

Ill Blu are launching their new label 'Plastik Cups' pretty soon too I believe

And Devine Recordings are releasing a shitload of EP's (like 7 of them) next month as well, with this among them:

excellent, its just like last year's pre-xmas splurge of Devine releases! Licence is a banger. Hope 'People keep dancing' and 'touch her in the morning' and 'House girls part 2' will be coming out.

Probably asking too much but the Mad One remixes of Eleanor Rigby and Thriller would be even better.

who knows...
it needed more labels 2 years ago...

whatever happened to "it's funky" & "urban ridims"?

there were a few other of those labels during that time like them that put out a few good things and then disappeared? was it a z audio folding thing issue?
