The tree is tropical but I think it's a bit stunted and sickly cos it is in London

i like all of the mountainbikes in the picture. people posing on them, action shots of people driving them off the hill. bikes thrown in the grass and having a little rest. bicycles changed a lot. the mountainbike is a simple design but they came in so many colour variations. they are cheerful and they have imbedded in them action and adventure. now people drive electric bicycles that look like ufo's or those ultra thin ones that don't even have a break and actually don't make sense.

Bikes go through a lot of trends. These bikes were mountain bikes and hybrid bikes which you can do anything with. Then post olympics and Bradley Wiggins everyone started riding road bikes which are much more limited. Nowadays all the young people ride bikes designed to wheely on. High handlebars and saddle low to the back tyre like a trials bike. When I was a child it was BMXs.

I love this, hilarious, peak show off. Through central london rush hour, along the footpaths even, tyre a foot away from your head with nonchalant stare chewing gum

they all seem to be born cycling on one wheel, insouciant, nerveless, in complete control.

laughed at that. and they can't be seen to be enjoying it too much either, no this is just what they do, how they get about, what are you old cunts looking at?

There's a certain fuck-it-all yeeeeooo confidence in that period from about 11-15 when you start to get some of your own autonomy and develop interests but the pressures of sex and achievement and money have yet to kick in
