Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
This could just as well be in the "makes me chuckle..." thread, but what's with those T-shirts and jeans decorated with old-skool Disney/Warner Bros cartoon characters (esp. Marvin The Martian) inna urban stylee? Is it just irony-for-the-sake-of-irony, or what? Quite funny though.

Christ, really? Speaking of school shoes, I was inexplicably irked to see Damon Albarn on telly wearing Kickers.

2 things from highschool times i still want and would wear: unknown pleasures t-shirt and a pair of steel toe dr. martens.

well on second thought, what's the deal with dr. martens now? they went from brit working class rebellion to racism (with special laces) to US lalapalooza "alternative" costume to mall rat uniform... and now who still wears them?

i'm also in the market for a pair of everyday boots. my problem is everytime i go shopping instead of getting what i NEED, i.e. comfy everyday stuff, i end up getting uncomfortable good looking shit.

I got a pair of these Docs in tan. Fit like a glove they do.

Sorry, I'm sure Mr Tea would have done it if I hadn't...

I do actually have freakishly long toes, like some sort of treedweller, so I could do with a pair of those anyway.

Next question (unseasonal) good, cheapish jumpers. I don't want to look like Valdoonican, but also don't want to pay over forty quid.

I still have DMs, though don't wear them as much as I used to. The rule is to polish them. Honestly, you're better off looking like a neo-nazi than an Alice in Chains fan. Never wore the steel toe caps though, as it's impossible to get into clubs with them, and I'm worried that if I fell in the Thames, I'd sink.

Anyway, no offence, but I think all your boot / shoe suggestions have been crap. Can't anyone identify some ones that look alright?

Pair number 1 look like I'd have to be wearing a frilly shirt, wielding a whip and whispering "You've been a naughty girl" at some chambermaid. I know it's probably dead conservative, but I do like to have laces.

The green ones would be quite groovy if I was in a pixie Heartbreakers tribute band* during a bar scene in a Cormac McCarthy adaptation. Isn't green really unlucky though? (* I didn't make that up, someone actually wrote a book about it)

^that would only be true if you're planning on tucking your pant legs into them. which i personally am not brave enough to do. under normal circumstances a pair of jeans and any collared shirt would work

now you're just being silly... i wear them all the time, both casual and more dressy, and have never had any accidents or been dumped by anyone in them... anyhow their actually blue-green...
