I can see it's good but I'm too old to be listening to this now. It's very interesting to me that it's more or less unprecedented that a UK rap sound has taken such hold in the US rap world, well, at least in a large/important region of it. I know 'drill' started in Chicago but it's not really the same thing is it. Are UK producers still doing beats for these guys or was that just the formative Pop Smoke era?

The funny thing is although it was obviously influenced by (or came from) UK drill, the tempos have shot up and now it often sounds more like grime (new jersey influence aside). I guess that's cos UK drill producers like Axl were incorporating those sliding bass lines from grime.

Was never a close follower but I always thought the best, earlier UK drill sounded pretty close to grime anyway
