That's so spot-on it hurts.

Did I mention the shower gel I saw that promises it hasn't been tested on "Bambi, Skippy or Lassie"? Makes me want to inject plutonium into a panda's eyeballs for karmic balance.

Closely related to tweeness is the supposed abhorrence of 'efficiency'. Jack Daniel's and those fucking corporate-hippy icecream cunts are the worst ones for this. "Our icecream has a different amount of pecans in it depending on who put the pecans in your own personal tub with their own personal hands." That's not going to make it taste better (if it's even true), it's just going to make it unnecessarily expensive to produce!

Also, has anyone here ever been in a LUSH shop? It's a bit like Willy Wonka's factory only about ten times as camp, full of soap instead of chocolate and it does to your nose in ten minutes what ten hours of heavy ecstasy use does to your serotonin receptors.

And on each bottle of fragrant gunk they put the name and a cute little cartoon drawing of the woman who made personally made it with her own hands. Awww.

It's all over my facebook feed, got an invite to a protest about it by a number of my flatmates as well. Think I'll just go along with it in order not to look like a dick.

what strikes me the most is how well printed everything is, the money and effort they seem to have invested is staggering. where do they get the money for this stuff? why can't i pay my rent? why are they so keen on military intervention? and why this man and not one of the countless warlords in africa? were i more conspiracy-minded, i would see the pentagon financing this stuff to push for american military presence/expenditure in africa, especially in light of china buying up the place and the other wars winding down. probably not the case, but i do wonder sometimes.
