Best synth sound ever

Pretty obvious one really. Turns the evil up to 11 at 1:37...

Not many synth sounds more euphoric than this at 0:44 and again at 2:20

Sabbath clearly aren't an obvious synth band and this isn't really one of their better songs, but it's quite cool in a darkly psychedelic early-70s sort of way:

No idea what the hell is making the noise at the start of this Demdike Stare track, but it's cool as hell.

That might be a Bernard Parmegiani sample (or at least it sounds like it could be)

A comment on the youtube page suggests it's Stockhausen. So a synth sound from before there were 'synths', as such. When was this Parmegiani guy active, if you're right?

Ah yeah, it's from "Kontakte" by Stockhausen

Bernard Parmegiani was active from at least early 60s on I think, similar sounds/vibe

definitely worth checking out

Nice. The first link really does sound like a sort of cosmic construction yard.

love this so much

afaik nearly all his electronic work was created on this crazy soviet synthesizer called the ANS where you have to draw the partials on a screen to make the waveforms for it,

Love the synths on this

Also this

Agree with Luka - Funky Worm is a good call but I'm not sure it's a synth. I'm also not sure what it is though.

Wow, this is gorgeous. The combination of epic synth washes and wailing, echoey '80 RAWK guitar reminds me very much of the Bladerunner soundtrack.

Some of the synth sounds aren't a million miles away from the B-side of Bowie's Low, which is almost more an Eno record than it is a Bowie record. 'Wailing Wall' (edit: I mean 'Weeping Wall') in particular, though I can't find it on youtube. This is great too, from the same record:
