It's about the nostalgia you twenty somethings have for it which is weird to those of us who are a bit older, for whom it was the kingdom of Satan

well, let's see. a fucking ton of stuff got privatized, and correspondingly the idea of the common good was hugely degraded.

liberals embraced the free market as supreme arbiter, far more unanimously and vociferously than they ever had before

the Democratic Party and liberals in general completely abandoned working-class people and issues

all of which has come home to roost over the last decade plus in massively negative ways

knowledge about neoliberalism is like a 20 something party trick though. It oohs and awes. Same goes for fascism. The neo liberal nostalgia clique is a different breed of twenty somethings.

not that Kennedy and LBJ weren't, but at least LBJ forced through the Great Society too

or as much it as wasn't sucked up into the disaster of Vietnam, anyway

how do people not burn out into misanthropy?

This forum seems like it'd be rife em, but the presence is less than expected

neoliberals didn't even have the decency to care for their own fucking constituents

then they were surprised when those constituents abandoned them en masse in favor of the worst Presidential administration in American history
