As the variants continue to diverge from the vax-specific protection against Alpha, the vaxxed will get it (ie. the latest Covid variant) again and again and again. Their immune systems are primed quite narrowly for Alpha and cannot be reset for new variants (as happens with flu immunity and dwindling vax efficacy for individuals as they age after original childhood infection).

This will also happen to those with naturally acquired immunity but it will take a little longer as their immune response is more flexible.

The fact that the vax permit loadsa transmission to continue doesn't help at all.

We need drugs stat.

I dont really care but it seems pretty obvious that the omicron one has came from a vaccinated person with reduced immunity, i.e. the hiv or similar

These jabs generally restrict anything getting to the lungs but don't actually block infection in the slightest, so it's probably sat there in their system unable to shift it and mutating to remain

By the time it transmits to some nurse or whatever its become less deadly but more transmissible, we should be thanking the vax really

In fact, Omicron is already looking like it might stimulate a top-ranked immune response from those with neither jabs nor acquired Covid immunity.

To cap it all, the jabs start moving into negative efficacy after 200 days so one either takes the hit of a worse Covid outcome should one get infected or one boosts but by doing so further ossifies the immune response and starts further down from the top of the same slippery slope to susceptibility.
