on logan's show: new crazy titch followed by old crazy titch, on ice rink (and now, alias*).. deadly combination.

the only thing tempering my excitement about the prison mixtape is it's hosted by ghetto. two questions about that:

1) why?
2) why him?

threatens to ruin it. like when sk vibemakers 'host' people's mixtapes.

*actually it's just a crazy titch vocal megamix.

i heard he got rushed nah that's wrong

"dot spitting on dubstep - that's sick"

no it isn't, dot rotten, it really isn't. dubstep-influenced grime makes me sad.

i know people think it's a bit of an easy target having a go at wobble, or writing off anything with that mid-range chainsaw in it. but it's not a fashion thing, it's not snobbery, i just hate that sound. it upsets my ears.

on the upside they make wobble tracks better but that isnt hard. on the downside it's embarassing to see grime begging friend. in 2005 dubstep to grime fans was "gay" or "for pillheads". Now they're begging it... it's almost as bad as the Roll Deep number 1. its like it grime doesnt know who it is anymore.

on the upside JME is a comic marketing genius

not a new thing though, this sad behaviour has been taking shape for a while. generally seen as better than funky cos dubstep is thought of as being closer to grime. cant say either is that great an idea really. though i know which id prefer, by and large.

in other belated news, i just clocked where spooky got joyride riddim from lol

I went mad when he dropped Cooly Dance at Just Jam. So good.

I'm not a fan of most of the new Grime MC's over Dubstep tunes but its not new.

"Boy Better Know have not been simple bystanders on this plateau, however. Dubstep already owes them a debt for breaking Skream's "Midnight Request Line" as an anthem two years ago, and this summer they've done it again with Coki and Benga's dubstep bouncer, "Night". "Me and JME loved 'Night' at Forward>>," he explains. Now everyone loves it. "I've seen 50 people outside a club singing the bassline! I've seen people playing it on bike horns, the guys who run the bar at the hotel pool love it. Even the old guy who takes your photos for two euros loves it. Every DJ wants to get a copy." When it comes to cross-genre anthem appointing, Skepta is the kingmaker."

Can't see it ever coming out to be honest. Spartan is out next and then Over Capacity on my next EP. That one sounds like old Oddz & Eastwood. First tune on this showreel

ahaha, what c*nt wrote that crap ;). thing is Request Line was Skream doing grime and it was a bit of a first in terms of scene interactions... everyone else in grime thought they were mad. now it's common place.

This tune is so good, hopefully he gets some stuff released soon. I really like Heart Attack VIP, Bassline, Danger and Untitled Beat on his Soundcloud page.

That was Skream's idea of making a grime tune? Even if you take into consideration the more half-steppy grime that was being made around that time, Midnight Request Line was a thoroughly dubstep tune in virtually every regard. Which explains, as you mentioned, why everyone got so excited about it when it became such a hit in the grime scene.

Aside from that, I'm not seeing how what you're saying is any different from what that journalist did?

Skream has written some good Grime tunes as well.

You should buy the Murder 1 tape he put out with Konan. It's from last year, is admittedly mostly rap, but it's fucking brilliant.

They were meant to have a couple of things out this year but no sign yet.
