Finally got round to listening to Skepta's latest album. I think we may have lost him for good. It's just awful, even for him. Straight down to his limp recognition and defense of being a sell out on "Do It Like Me."

Come to think of it there hasn't been a really stand-out mixtape in a while, has there? The last I picked up and enjoyed was Rival's Return of the Rivz, but it was a pretty standard mixtape overall. Looking forward to Merky Ace's one. Still haven't picked up the Wiley one, but I should because I like his new bars.

On one hand, it really speaks to where Skepta is creatively right now: if he was actually bothering to make good records he cared about, he wouldn't need this kind of cynical promotion. On the other hand, it's so absurdist and hilariously ignorant that I don't even know if I can truly hate it in itself. It's just so... retarded. I still can't believe that is actually a real thing.

I'm really looking forward to Merky Ace's too. I've not heard the Trim ones yet but they look alright. I'm more interested in what else he's on with though it seems like his getting some pretty mad beats from all over the place at the moment.



Wiley's album sounds pretty hot from the adverts on youtube too haha. Sounds like the best he's done in some time.
