I saw a news report on how back in January, trump nominated some woman to be on the federal reserve board, and there are clips of her making wacky statements about how we should go back to the gold standard. McConnell and the rest of the GOP thought she was unqualified/batty and refused to move forward on confirmation hearings. but now, post-election, they suddenly have renewed interest in giving her a hearing. Dems saying the GOP wants to rush through a vote on her before the next congress in order to have a wacko at the Fed who could screw up the economy under biden. probably overblown but wouldn't put it past them.

Was just watching some Owen Jones thing where he interviewed a few anti-lockdown protesters and it went about as well as expected; one woman said people are getting ill because humans breathe out carbon monoxide and the mask forces it back into your body and makes you sick, another woman was on about some bs and said "You might think its a conspiracy theory but actually its a big book" and there was a bloke who was ranting about Boris Johnson being a socialist because telling people what to do is socialism.

ppl arguing that everyone should just believe elites are a bit like reactionaries who believe ppl should just believe religious authorities. maybe it would be bettr if they did but as it stands they wont, you cant put the genie back in the bottle.

This is what I keep telling them vim. I love the post truth era, it's brilliant! Can't wait to go further upriver

AOS also said "And remember, you shall suffer all things and again suffer: until you have sufficient sufferance to accept all things".

Elites are always going to be eliting, granted, but propping NHS staff up as fire coolant isn't good enough. Is that acceptable? There's the paradox.

(Is there fishing on this river? i've got a full sea-angling set-up that's convertible. Then again, never know where that old river leads)

idk whether I'd describe it as brilliant. catastrophic also seems quite accurate. but nevertheless, that's the situation.

People blindly believing anything's the problem. They realise they can't trust the establishment then use it as license to dismiss anything they disagree with. Somehow they never stop to ask themselves why everything that's "fake" just so happens to be everything they don't want to be true.

So the elites ride into town with a new green economic drive. Not that there wasn't one before, except now it'll be insect burgers. The battery human replaced the battery chicken years ago. Their assets run at £trillions. They'll do wtf they want. It's beyond jamming.

So i head to the Peaks, they don't own those views. People who countenance anything approaching putting £-value on that will be shot.

They might try and wriggle out of it by changing it to "cultural elite" or something similar, but economics is the real divider.

the incoherence of the argument is not going to help, I dont think, or the elite wouldn't have list legitimacy in the first place
