Whenever I try to make funky on reason, my inner music nerd/classical piano player kicks in and I have to start adding a load of atmospheric chords and twiddly little details etc.

It would be interesting to investigate this idea of 'deepness' and how it relates to the preferences of a certain type of person...

I suppose one element is just that its fucking hard to make something simple that doesn't SOUND simple. Whereas its easy to make something complex, even if it isn't that good...

Actually, feel free to ignore those comments I probably would prefer this thread to concentrate on mixes/info about tunes/enthusiasm etc.

I listened to that dubplate wonder mix today - some great tunes in there, wasn't feeling all of it but a good hour and a half on the whole.

What's next?

Well, at the risk of repeating myself/telling you what you already know, all of the radio sets and myspace links that Luka has posted over last few pages are well worth checking out. Lots of good bits and pieces dotted right through them, and most of it is fresh, hot-off-the-press stuff, which is handy.
Putting together another list of tunes I'm currently feeling, should have it finished and up in a day or too. Of course, this time round a fair few of the tunes will have already been discussed upthread, but it'll at least help me keep everything straight in my head, and maybe in other people's too.

Couple of tune IDs

http://www.zshare.net/audio/725656316611b37c/ = off dubplate wonder 2010 mix ''searching searching for your love... my oasis''

http://www.zshare.net/audio/725656758198ca3e/ = off an old footloose set, sounds like a broken beat tune ''if i got you... i don't need anybody else''

in fact both tunes sound a bit broken beaty

First one is Aaron Carl - Oasis (Nick Holder Vocal Dub)

http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=show&fc=tpage&cr=titles&cv=18734

No idea about the second one.
