@staypuft - There's a FootworkKingz track Rashad did that starts off with just vocals but halfway through comes in with a jazz sample off Jukeville. Not sure if it's what you're looking for but it might be worth a shot checking it out on beatport or something.
@mr. snub - I don't have Juke-a-later or da juke project, but I do have some older Thadz stuff if you're interested. The
DM 255 Thadz/Chip split is cool for a couple reasons. It includes the first Spinn and Rashad releases to make it to vinyl, right before Dance Mania died off. The Spinn track "Mothafucka" has a really dope vocal sample and the Rashad track "Child Abuse" is an instrumental with a really bent up bass line. The DJ Chip side was controversial because the first track on his side was called "Bang Ski". That split album got released a couple months before Clents legendary "100% Ghetto - We 2 Ghetto 4 Ya!" which had the original track, "Bang Skeet (Original)". I heard Clent was pretty pissed about Chip biting off the track real hard.
I've got nothing but 100% respect for the Japan scene. Not only do they seem to be really passionate about the music, but they're definitely not overlooking the dance element which is just as important as (if not more than) the music element! I know there's a few guys from Japan who've visited Chicago and one guy,
Takuya, is on Havoc. It seems like Japan is one of the only places that has a "scene" for footwork dancers outside of Chicago. St. Paul has got some stuff crackin though, and I know King Charles is working on dance stuff in LA. Creation is working on starting up chapters in NC and a couple other states as well.
