I've been told that Ableton Live started out as Robert "Monolake" Henke's Max/MSP patch. Is this true and - if so - does that mean he's super rich now?

Remember reading this, it's a really good article
you can sort of see the relationship just from the UI of ableton, the number boxes, dials etc are all the same as Max/MSP. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a picture of the early max patches of ableton prototypes. It sort of makes sense though I think, before ableton max/msp was one of the main platforms for "live" laptop electronica stuff, and people have used it alot for prototyping.
I couldnt say whether its common to be honest but I know its done. Its been used in the games industry also for prototyping sound effects. Things like engine noise for example which is really hard to get right considering you got to interpolate different recorded samples etc. probably in most of these cases only if there happens to be a developer who is particualr good with max though.
why do japanese cds always include an obi-strip? the information on the strip is usually also on the cd cover, unless the cd has some artsy image-only graphic design.
