no i'm not, i don't want to have a personalized qr-code
You already have a passport, I presume? Plus documentation related to residence, medical insurance, a birth certificate? Bank cards?

I mean, I could understand this extreme aversion to the idea of a vaccination certificate if it came from someone was genuinely off-grid, an actual 21st-century caveman, who had managed to take himself off every conceivable government system. But you have a smartphone, right? Clearly you use the internet, at any rate. I expect at least one form of social media, beyond Dissensus. Are you really naive enough to think any arbitrarily sinister government agency doesn't already have more than enough tools to know where you are and what you're up to at any given time?

i don't want to have those either, if i could get a fake passport or a fake birth certificate i would get those too. anyway this pretty much sums up why i don't want to get a qr-code specifically: https://www.cigionline.org/articles/whats-really-stake-vaccine-passports/

so if someone has experiences with the fake ones going around that you can install on your telephone, then let me know.

There was a nurse in Germany handing them out. She got busted and probably rendered down into vaccine feedstock.
Did you see those asshole German police walking around with rulers to enforce social distancing. Bad magic.

The funniest thing about this whole orgy of stupidity is that one of the commonest right-wing complaints is that "everyone wants to be oppressed these days", but this is more true of privileged reactionaries than of any other group. So @mixed_biscuits and @148 I.Q. Magical Thinker have converged on this sort of mutant right-wing pseudo-socialism, whereby some middle-class, middle-aged, able-bodied white guys, who still have a faint muscle memory of headbanging to Rage Against The Machine as teenagers, imagine they're bravely sticking it to The Man by siding with a virus that overwhelmingly affects the elderly, the poor, the sick and disabled, and non-white people. So bravo, guys. Real heroic of you.

Bit disappointed to see @yyaldrin falling for the same bullshit, I have to say.

But as it happens, you have them, so what's the fucking point? By this line of thinking, you're already an enslaved sheeple plugged into the Matrix.

do you not worry even a tiny bit about 'the coming authoritarianism' to coin a phrase?

not to speak for @Mr. Tea - wait, actually, to speak for @Mr. Tea in fact - he seems to think the authoritarianism is (a) inevitable (b) already upon us (c) not that bad and better than everyone dying of diseases

for me the covid passport is just another passport that serves as an instrument to exclude people and it will exactly be the poor, the sick, the disabled, the non-white people, the activists and the outcasts that will suffer under such an instrument.

A new contract between government and governed, wherein your chimeric genetic material is your pass to remain in society. Some of the more batshit elements suggest that consenting to have your genetic material altered (I'm careful not to say DNA here) makes you other than human, so human rights don't apply. I wouldn't go that far, but the idea is out there.

I think people who came of age in the 90s / 2000s are actually crippled in our response to this stuff because we developed an instinctive "fuck off" reaction during The War Against Terror from being told that we need all this massively intrusive state surveillance in case someone makes C4 in their flat and blows up a bus once every few years. I don't think the same kneejerk reaction is automatically justified in something like the current situation where we've got the equivalent of two to three 7/7 attacks happening every day and anyone who isn't trapped in a bubble of their own tediously self-satisfied egowank can see things are likely to get significantly worse in the near future.

in berlin during winter, homeless people are allowed to seek shelter in some of the subway stations, it's not a lot in terms of comfort, they just sleep on the floor, but it literally prevents them from freezing to death. this winter, they will need to have a proof of vaccination, or a covid-passport, or else they will be chased away by police.

Now get equally worked up about undiagnosed cancer sufferers, people waking up with myocarditis, people topping themselves, wrecked education and businesses, a looming breakdown of supply chains, and unequalled redistribution of wealth the wrong way.

An no-one makes C4 in their flat, it was TATP.
